Whoops….looks like it should be “hula,” not hulah.

Of course, I’m planning to come up with a ukelele for Jenna to play…. -LSW

Jenna Elephant is another free paper doll that is part of the Catherine Cat and friends series.  Silly and ginormous, Jenna has several outfites that co-ordinate with her friends….I also encourage you to make your own clothes for Jenna.  Have fun!  -LSW

Choose co-ordinating lightweight paper for owl inner layer. Glue cardstock owls over the l.w. paper so that paper print shows on face of owl.

Decorate your owls! We used sequins for the eyes and glitter glue for accents.

The girls and I have been making these all weekend long….my oldest, age 6,  decided that she’d like to use them as her Valentine’s for school this year and that we should make enough to mail a few out as well.  Maybe next year she’ll be in the phase where handmade stuff isn’t cool….this year, we’re making them.

These little owls are quick and simple to make and very easy to personalize.  And, they use up small scraps of paper….that’s super-great, in my book.

Here’s something I’ve been playing around with, a program called IntoCartoon…..I’m an avid digital photographer and an enthusiastic gardener.  Manipulating this summer’s photos is a good way to pass grey-toned winter evenings and gives me a little color to look at.

IF I had a good printer, (heck, I don’t even have a color ink cartridge that’s not dried up) this is what I might do with these:

  • Gift wrap.  That’s what come to my mind first.
  • Origami paper.
  • Stamps or stickers.
  • Cards maybe?  Postcards?
  • Clipart for a website?
  • I’ve printed this sort of thing  out at CVS photo before and they look pretty cool framed.  My friend Richard likes the one I gave him quite a bit…..I’d rather, tho, see the images printed out with a matte  finish on textured paper to make them look a bit more un-photoey.  I’d definitely play around with them a bit more on the computer and try to touch up the diablo daylily in particular (that’s the dark, dark daylily) because the background is kind of a weird pink tone.

Beats me….maybe nothing beyond just looking at them on my computer from time to time.    If you click on the image an view it at full size, you can right click to set it as your desktop background.  -LSW

My dearest Robin, if you read this, I know that this particualar costume agenda for Tim Turtle will make you laugh……..

I wanted to give him a nose piercing for the punk get-up,but the mohawk was enough to set my girls to loud repeated complaints.
